I don’t know if the movie is good or not, what I do now is that the simple thought about the movie subject makes me shit my pants.
The movie can be summarize in: “Young woman has a vagina full of teeth, the vagina of course attacks whatever goes close enough”
Now if we go to a more intellectual undestanding about the movie, we can related with the myth of the Vagina Dentata which consist in the unconscious belief that a woman may eat or castrate her partner during intercourse — literally, the “toothed vagina” — is a classic mythological symbol of men’s fear of sex. It appears in the mythology of countless cultures and societies down through the years.
I cannot wait to go to see the sharp monster!

Elfen Lied (ćØć«ćć§ć³ćŖć¼ć, Erufen RÄ«to?) is the title of a Japanese manga series and derivative anime originally created by Japanese author Lynn Okamoto. Elfen Lied focuses on a mysterious and deadly breed of horned humans called “diclonius”, and the havoc they wreak upon humanity. The title Elfen Lied is German or Dutch for “Elf Song” (see Lied), and pronounced approximately [ĖÉlfÉn liĖt], although the correct German spelling would be “Elfenlied”.
Elfen Lied first began as a manga series, serialized in the magazine Weekly Young Jump and published in Japan by Shueisha, ending at the completion of the twelfth volume. An anime adaptation began airing in Japan on July 25, 2004 while the unfinished manga was still in production, causing the anime plot to differ somewhat from the manga. A bonus OVA episode was released on April 21, 2005 giving some more background information.
So far, only the original anime series spanning 13 episodes and the OVA have been licensed in the United States and Canada, by ADV Films. ADV Films said the series was one of their bestselling and “most notorious” releases of 2005.
The opening and ending sequences feature artistic drawings of the principal characters. These characters are drawn in a style based on Gustav Klimt’s paintings, imitating poses, colors, and patterns. In the following comparison images, the left side of each image shows Klimt’s work, and on the right, Elfen Lied’s counterpart:

The German song Elfenlied (”Elf Song”) appears in the manga (volume 5, p.154) and is credited to the composer Hugo Wolf. The song does not appear in the anime. A poem by Eduard Mƶrike is the basis for Wolfās version.
Throughout its course, the story of Elfen Lied delves into moral dilemmas and societal issues both real and hypothetical, contrasting the reactions of the different characters and races to horrific circumstances, especially those from in their childhoods.
Elfen Lied deals with human evolution with both humans and diclonii regarding each other as expendable, dehumanized mistakes. However, an important aspect of the series involves relationships between primary caregivers, as well as love in general, which is gradually revealed to exist between diclonii and humans. Toward the end of the series characters of both races come to the difficult understanding that they are both indeed human, with distinct differences between them. The main drive of the diclonius race is the propagation of their superior traits through the destruction of the human race. This homicidal drive can arise as early as the 3rd year of a diclonius’s life. Many diclonius do not consider normal Homo sapiens “human”; this apparently stems from their very distinctive characteristics that in turn caused them to be rejected by fellow humans.
One of the most prevalent motifs of the series is the humanity of the diclonius, especially contrasted against the inhumanity of ordinary people. One reviewer described the series as “devoted to quite a few of the darker, more callous factors of human nature”. Throughout the series, incidences of human sadism are seen, from casual beatings to pedophilic rape to outright killing. Lucy, on the other hand, begins life as a perfectly psychologically normal child, with an obvious physical difference, tormented repeatedly by ordinary people. This mistreatment and torment by her human peers is portrayed as a classical example of ijime(bullying), which happens everyday in Japan and refers to people who stray from the norm or are mostly deemed different, becoming target for lifetime physical or mental abuse by others.
Although she tries to make friends with children her own age, she is spurned, lied to, physically assaulted, and forced to witness brutality. She suffers a great deal because of her day to day life, and so her reactions vary between disgust at the casual cruelty, painful wonder about why she alone is so mistreated, wishing to retreat from her miserable life, and desire to wreak vengeance in the most painful way possible on her tormentors (the Homo sapiens race).
The story also deals with the issues of psychological trauma and repressed memories. Lucy has dissociative identity disorder, one infantile personality (NyÅ«), and another adult one (Lucy), full of painful memories and a solemn, murderous hatred towards normal humans, especially ones who personally hurt her. Kohta suffers from dissociative amnesia after his sister Kanae and father are brutally murdered in front of him. Nana suffers from being used as a test subject but she still manages to smile because she associates herself with chief Kurama. Mariko, Kurama’s daughter, has suffered from being locked up and never having contact with anyone besides a voice though a speaker where she is being contained, she was kept completely isolated until later in the series. When she was born Kurama tried to kill her because she was a diclonius, and her mother died trying to stop him.

ImDB :: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0115033
Rotten Tomatoes :: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/young_poisoners_handbook
Last night I was sitting on my sofa at home, just listening music at night and suddenly I started to think about a movie I saw back in the 90’s in Argentina, I remember I was watching HBO Ole on a Sunday after midnight and I was trapped by this dark English movie based in a real life case, about a 14 years old kid who poisoned his family with Thallium and was obsessed with Nazi paraphernalia.
The Young Poisoner’s Handbook (1995) is a British-German-French-produced black comedy film based on the life of Graham Frederick Young, more commonly known as the “teacup murderer”. It was directed by Benjamin Ross, and written by the aforesaid director and Jeff Rawle. The film stars Hugh O’Conor in the lead role.
The film is also known as Das Handbuch des jungen Giftmischers in German.
The film’s portrayal of Graham Young is not wholly true to life, and thus, the film is not truly biographical. Nonetheless, the main truths about him are conveyed. He was a poisoner, a murderer, a genius and a thoroughly amoral man.
The early parts of the film show the viewer that Young is a child with preoccupied with the macabre. In his teen years, he actually poisons a schoolmate ā sickening him rather than killing him ā in order to date a girl his schoolmate was seeing. His conversation with his date involved vivid, graphic descriptions of deadly car accidents.
He also reads a comic book account of an event in which the Dutch Resistance killed a whole German army camp in the occupied Netherlands during the Second World War by poisoning their water supply with thallium.
Graham Young is arrested at the age of 14 outside his home in Neasden after having killed his stepmother and having tried to do the same to his father by lacing their food or medicine with thallium. During the struggle with police Young abuses the policemen because he drops his “Exit Dose” of thallium which he intended to use to commit suicide should he be caught. He is imprisoned for nine years in an institution for the criminally insane, during which time a psychiatrist works with him in the hopes of rehabilitating him.
Graham’s dishonesty becomes evident to the doctor, who can see that Graham is trying to deceive him. Graham apparently has no dreams to share with the psychiatrist so he “borrows” a fellow prisoner’s dreams. This source is shut off to him, however, once the fellow prisoner commits suicide. Despite the initial evidence of deceptiveness on Graham’s part, the doctor eventually gets him released.
Graham then goes to work in a camera factory, and is shown the secret ingredient used in the company’s shutter system ā thallium. It is not long before Graham has reverted to his old behaviour and is poisoning people. He kills two of his workmates by poisoning their tea with thallium stolen from the laboratory, and sickens many others. For months, the source of the “bug” afflicting the workers at the factory remains a mystery until one unforeseen event leads to Graham’s being found out. As a hygiene measure, all the personalized teacups are replaced with uniform ones, leaving Graham unable to poison people selectively. His efforts to memorize which cup is going to which person give him away, and his workmates finally realize what is going on.
Graham is arrested soon afterwards, and he is later sentenced to a lengthy prison term, this time in an ordinary prison. He commits suicide by poisoning there, unlike the real Graham Young, who died of a heart attack. The film insinuates that Graham’s ambition in life was to create a diamond using his poisons and chemistry knowledge, in reality his ambition was to become an infamous poisoner which he achieved.

Graham Frederick Young (September 7, 1947 ā August 1, 1990) was a British murderer who poisoned a total of three people to death (his stepmother, and then years later two work colleagues, Bob Egle and Fred Biggs) as well as administering smaller doses to scores of others.
Born in Neasden, he was fascinated with poisons and their effects on the human body from a young age. In 1961 (at the age of 14) he started to test poisons out on his family in doses strong enough to make them violently ill. He bought a large quantity of poison by frequently buying small amounts of antimony and digitalis, lying about his age and claiming that they were for science experiments at school.
Graham Frederick Young. When the press asked for a photo, he insisted they use this photobooth shot in which he looked ‘particularly cold-eyed and sinister.’In 1962 Young’s stepmother Molly died from poison. He also had been systematically poisoning his father, sister, and a school friend. Young’s aunt Winnie, who knew of his fascination with chemistry and poisons, had become suspicious. He might have escaped suspicion if no one had known of his interests because he regularly suffered the same nausea and sicknesses as the rest of his family, often because he forgot which foods he had laced. He was sent to see a psychiatrist, who was concerned enough to recommend contacting the police. Young was arrested on 23 May 1962. He confessed to the attempted murders of his father, sister, and friend. The remains of his stepmother could not be analysed, because she had been cremated.
Young was sentenced to 15 years in Broadmoor Hospital, an institution for mentally unstable criminals. He was released after nine years, when he was deemed “fully recovered”. During his years in the hospital, however, Young had studied medical texts, improving his knowledge of the effects of poisons on the human body, and had continued his experiments, using fellow inmates and hospital staff as guinea pigs
After his release from hospital in 1971, he worked at a photographic supply store not far from his sister’s home in Hemel Hempstead in nearby Bovingdon, Hertfordshire. His new employers received references from Broadmoor, but were inexplicably not informed of his past as a convicted poisoner. Soon after he began work, his foreman, Bob Egle, grew violently ill and died. Young had been making tea laced with poisons such as antimony and thallium for his colleagues. A sickness had swept through his workplace and, mistaken for a strange virus, was nicknamed the “Bovingdon Bug”. All these cases of nausea and illness, sometimes severe enough to require hospitalisation, were later attributed to Young and his tea.
Young poisoned about 70 people during the next few months, none fatally. Egle’s successor sickened soon after starting work there, but decided to quit. That decision probably saved his life. A few months after Egle’s death, another of Young’s workmates, Fred Biggs, grew ill and was admitted to the London National Hospital for Nervous Diseases. It was too late to save him, however, and after suffering in agony for several weeks, he became Young’s third and final victim.
At this point, it was evident that a proper investigation into the sicknesses and deaths was necessary. Young asked the company doctor if the investigators had not considered thallium poisoning as a cause of the symptoms. He had also told one of his colleagues that his hobby was the study of toxic chemicals. Young’s colleague went to the police, who immediately checked Young’s background and uncovered his criminal record.
Young was arrested in Sheerness, Kent, on November 21, 1971. Police found thallium in his pocket and antimony, thallium and aconitine in his flat. They also discovered a meticulously detailed diary that Young had kept, noting all the doses of poisons he had administered, their effects, and whether he was going to allow each person to live or die.
At his trial at St Albans Crown Court, which started 19 June 1972, and lasted for 10 days, Young pleaded not guilty, and explained the diary away as a mere fantasy he was planning to base a novel on in the future. In light of the evidence, however, Young was found guilty and was sentenced to life in prison. He was dubbed The Teacup Poisoner, although he apparently wanted to be remembered as the World’s poisoner.
While in prison, he befriended fellow serial killer Ian Brady, whom he bonded with over their shared fascination with Nazi Germany. In his 2001 book, The Gates of Janus, Brady would write that “it was hard not to have empathy for Graham Young”.
Young died in his cell at Parkhurst prison at the age of 42 in 1990. The official cause of death was listed as a myocardial infarction, but there is some conjecture that fellow prisoners were the culprits.

Dirk Benedict was the original Starbuck, in fact Dirk Benedict was is and will be Starbuck in my mind.
Checking his website I found the following text called Lost in Castration about the new “re-imagined” Galactica, the chick playing the emotional unstable new Starbuck and many other interesting things…
I am a big fan of the original series, I am a big fan of the new series, but I think that Dirk have a valid point.
I know is long, but it is worthy
No commentsStarbuck: Lost in Castration
Once upon a time, in what used to be a far away land called Hollywood
but is now a state of mind and everywhere, a young actor was handed a
script and asked to bring to life a character called Starbuck. I am
that actor. The script was called Battlestar Galactica.Fortunately I was young, my imagination fertile and adrenal glands
strong, because bringing Starbuck to life was over the dead
imaginations of a lot of Network Executives. Every character trait I
struggled to give him was met with vigourous resistance. A charming
womaniser? The “Suits” (Network Executives) hated it. A cigar
(fumerello) smoker? The Suits hated it. A reluctant hero who found
humour in the bleakest of situations? The Suits hated it. All this
negative feedback convinced me I was on the right track.Starbuck was meant to be a loveable rogue. It was best for the show,
best for the character and the best that I could do. The Suits didn’t
think so. “One more cigar and he’s fired,”they told Glen Larson, the
creator of the show. “We want Starbuck to appeal to the female
audience for crying out loud!” You see, the Suits knew women were
turned off by men who smoked cigars. Especially young men. (How
they “knew” this was never revealed.) And they didn’t stop there. “If
Dirk doesn’t quit playing every scene with a girl like he wants to
get her in bed, he’s fired!” This was, well, it was blatant
heterosexuality. Treating women like “sex objects”. I thought it was
flirting. Never mind. They wouldn’t have it.I wouldn’t have it any other way, or rather Starbuck wouldn’t. So we
persevered, Starbuck and I. The show, as the saying goes, went on and
the rest is history ā for, lo and behold, women from all over the
world sent me boxes of cigars, phone numbers, dinner requests,
marriage proposals… The Suits were not impressed. They would have
there way, which is what Suits do best, and after one season of
puffing and flirting and gambling, Starbuck, that loveable scoundrel,
was indeed fired. Which is to say Battlestar Galactica was cancelled.
Starbuck however, would not stay cancelled, but simply morphed into
another flirting, cigar-smoking, blatant heterosexual called Faceman
Another show, another set of Suits and, of course, if the A-Team
movie rumours prove correct, another remake. There was a time ā I know I was there ā when men were men, women were
women and sometimes a cigar was just a good smoke. But 40 years of
feminism have taken their toll. The war against masculinity has been
won. Everything has turned into its opposite, so that what was once
flirting and smoking is now sexual harassment and criminal. And
everyone is more lonely and miserable as a result.Witness the “re-imagined” Battlestar Galactica. It’s bleak,
miserable, despairing, angry and confused. Which is to say, it
reflects, in microcosm, the complete change in the politics and mores
of today’s world as opposed to the world of yesterday. The world of
Lorne Greene (Adama) and Fred Astaire (Starbuck’s Poppa), and Dirk
Benedict (Starbuck). I would guess Lorne is glad he’s in that Big
Bonanza in the sky and well out of it. Starbuck, alas, has not been
so lucky. He’s not been left to pass quietly into that trivial world
of cancelled TV characters.“Re-imagining”, they call it. “un-imagining” is more accurate. To
take what once was and twist it into what never was intended. So that
a television show based on hope, spiritual faith, and family is
unimagined and regurgitated as a show of despair, sexual violence and
family dysfunction. To better reflect the times of ambiguous morality
in which we live, one would assume. A show in which the aliens
(Cylons) are justified in their desire to destroy our civilisation.
One would assume. Indeed, let us not say who are he guys and who are
the bad. That is being “judgemental”. And that kind of (simplistic)
thinking went out with Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan and
Katharine Hepburn and John Wayne and, well the original Battlestar
Galactica. In the bleak and miserable, “re-imagined” world of Battlestar
Galactica, things are never that simple. Maybe the Cylons are not
evil and alien but in fact enlightened and evolved? Let us not judge
them so harshly. Maybe it is they who deserve to live and Adama, and
his human ilk who deserves to die? And what a way to go! For the re-
imagined terrorists (Cylons) are not mechanical robots void of soul,
of sexuality, but rather humanoid six-foot-tall former lingerie
models who f**k you to death. (Poor old Starbuck, you were imagined
to early. Think of the fun you could have had `fighting’ with these
thong-clad aliens! In the spirit of such soft-core sci-fi porn I
think a more re-imaginative title would have been F**cked by A Cylon.
(Apologies to Touched by An Angel.)One thing is certain. In the new un-imagined, re-imagined world of
Battlestar Galactica everything is female driven. The male
characters, from Adama on down, are confused, weak, and wracked with
indecision while the female characters are decisive, bold, angry as
hell, puffing cigars (gasp) and not about to take it any more. One can quickly surmise what a problem the original Starbuck created
for the re-imaginators. Starbuck was all charm and humour and
flirting without an angry bone in his womanising body. Yes, he was
definitely `female driven’, but not in the politically correct ways
of Re-imagined Television. What to do, wondered the Re-imaginators?
Keep him as he was, with a twinkle in his eye, a stogie in his mouth,
a girl in every galaxy? This could not be. He would stick out like,
well like a jock strap in a drawer of thongs. Starbuck refused to be
re-imagined. It became the Great Dilemma. How to have your Starbuck
and delete him too?The best minds in the world of un-imagination doubled their intake of
Double Soy Lattes as they gathered in their smoke-free offices to
curse the day this chauvinistic Viper Pilot was allowed to be. But
never under estimate the power of the un-imaginative mind when it
encounters an obstacle (character) it subconsciously loathes. “Re-
inspiration” struck. Starbuck would go the way of most men in today’s
society. Starbuck would become “Stardoe”. What the Suits of
yesteryear had been incapable of doing to Starbuck 25 years ago was
accomplished quicker than you can say orchiectomy. Much quicker. As
in, “Frak! Gonads Gone!” And the word went out to all the Suits in
all the smoke-free offices throughout the land of Un-
imagination, “Starbuck is dead. Long live Stardoe!”I’m not sure if a cigar in the mouth of Stardoe resonates in the same
way it did in the mouth of Starbuck. Perhaps. Perhaps it “resonates”
more. Perhaps that’s the point. I’m not sure. What I am sure of is
thisā¦Women are from Venus. Men are from Mars. Hamlet does not scan as
Hamletta. Nor does Han Solo as Han Sally. Faceman is not the same as
Facewoman. Nor does a Stardoe a Starbuck make. Men hand out cigars.
Women `hand out’ babies. And thus the world, for thousands of years,
has gone round.I am also sure that Show Business has been morphing for many decades
now and has finally become Biz Business. The creative artists have
lost and the Suits have won. Suits. Administrators. Technocrats.
Metro-sexual money-men (and women) who create formulas to guarantee
profit margins. Because movies and television shows are not made to
enlighten or even entertain but simply to make money. They will tell
you it is (still) about story and character but all it is really
about is efficiency. About The Formula. Because Harvard Business
School Technocrats run Hollywood and what Technocrats know is what
must be removed from all business is Risk. And I tell you life, real
life, is all about risk. I tell you that without risk you have no
creativity, no art. I tell you that without risk you have Remakes.
You have Charlie’s Angels, The Saint, Mission Impossible, The A-Team
(coming soon) Battlestar Galactica. All risk-free brand names,
franchises. For you see, TV Shows (and movies) are made and sold according to the
same business formula as hamburger franchises. So that it matters not
if the `best’ hamburger, what matters is that you `think’ it is the
best. And you do think it’s the best, because you have been told to;
because all of your favourite celebrities are seen munching it on TV.
The big money is not spent on making the hamburger or the television
show, but on the marketing of the hamburger/show. (One 60-second
commercial can cost more than it does to film a one-hour episode.) It
matters not to Suits if it is Starbuck or Stardoe, if the Cylons are
robots or lingerie models, if the show is full of optimism and
morality or pessimism and amorality. What matters is that it is
marketed well, so that all you people out there in TV land know that
you must see this show. And after you see it, you are told that you
should like it. That it is new and bold and sleek and sexy and best
of all⦠it is Re-imagined!So grab a Coke from the fridge (not the Classic Coke, but the re-
imagined kind with fewer calories) and send out for a McDonald’s
Hamburger (the re-imagined one with fewer carbs) and tune in to
Stardoe and Cylon #6 (or was it #69?) and Enjoy The Show. And if you don’t enjoy the show, or the hamburger and coke, it’s not
the fault of those re-imaginative technocrats that brought them to
you. It is your fault. You and your individual instincts, tastes,
judgement. Your refusal to let go of the memory of the show that once
was. You just don’t know what is good for you. But stay tuned. After
another 13 episodes (and millions of dollar of marketing), you will
see the light. You, your instincts, your judgement, are wrong.
McDonald’s is the best hamburger on the planet, Coca-Cola the best
drink. Stardoe is the best Viper Pilot in the Galaxy. And Battlestar
Galactica, contrary to what your memory tells you, never existed
before the Re-imagination of 2003.I disagree. But perhaps, you had to be there.

English
The first word was “dream”
From the middle of sleep
Which secretly accompanies
The darkness in my heart
The second word was “wind”
Directing my journey
From God’s arms,
Fanning wingsAs if counting
the melting sorrows,
Yet another golden
apple fell
Not even looking at the scenery,
There is the place you’re going
With merely a single life,
You struggle to reach that place
An old magic book;
moondrops; the curtain of night–
Only a premonition of meeting someday
We can fly
We have wings
We can touch floating dreams
Call me from so far
Through the wind
In the light
The third word was “hum”..
Caught by straining ears
As I softly release
Your trembling arms

Sopranos Temporada 6
Finoccio in the Family

Battlestar Galactica temporada 1 (La nueva)
Commander William Adama: There’s a reason you separate military and the police. One fights the enemies of the state, the other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to become the people.

Al Gore: I don’t find that particularly funny.

VAMOS A MORIR!

Bam Margera: Yeah

Olive: Grandpa, do you think I’m pretty?
Grandpa: Olive, you are the most beautiful girl in the whole world!
Olive: Nah you’re just saying that…
Grandpa: No I’m not kidding I’m madly in love with you, and it’s not because of your brains or your personality.
Olive is a little girl with a dream: winning the Little Miss Sunshine contest. Her family wants her dream to come true, but they are so burdened with their own quirks, neuroses, and problems that they can barely make it through a day without some disaster befalling them. Olive’s father Richard is a flop as a motivational speaker, and is barely on speaking terms with her mother. Her uncle Frank, a renowned Proust scholar, has attempted suicide following an unsuccessful romance with a male graduate student. Her brother Dwayne, a fanatical follower of Nietzsche, has taken a vow of silence, which allows him to escape somewhat from the family whose very presence torments him. And Olive’s grandfather is a ne’er-do-well with a drug habit, but at least he enthusiastically coaches Olive in her contest talent routine. Circumstances conspire to put the entire family on the road together with the goal of getting Olive to the Little Miss Sunshine contest in far off California

No commentsMy TOP 5 about TV shows involving spaceships
It is very hard for me to try to put this list in a particular order, because I just love all the five and also I think it will not be fair to compare a 2005 production with a TV made in 1979
For that reason in this TOP 5 all the TV shows are number 1 (perhaps I should change the tittle to My 5 favorites tv shows involving a spaceship, naa, top 5 in the title will bring more people’s attention)
I strongly recommend every single of them at the point of buying the DVDs, or you can download them just to see how good they are.
Also I would like to hear from you, I am open to any suggestion or recommendation, just remember it has to involve an spaceship
Star Trek: The Original Series

Star Trek debuted in the United States on NBC on September 8, 1966. The show, starring William Shatner, told the tale of the crew of the starship Enterprise and that crew’s five-year mission “to boldly go where no man has gone before.” After only three seasons, the show was cancelled and the last episode aired on June 3, 1969. The series subsequently became popular in reruns, and a cult following developed, complete with fan conventions. Originally aired as simply Star Trek, it has in recent years become known as Star Trek: The Original Series or as “Classic Trek” ā retronyms that distinguish it from its sequels and the franchise. All subsequent films and television series, except the animated series of the 1970s, have had secondary titles included as part of their official names. The original series currently airs on G4 and will debut on TV Land in September 2006. The series is being rerelweased in September 2006 with CGI enhancements as a high-definition “Re-mastered” edition.
Battlestar Galactica

There are those who believe that life here began out there, far across the universe, with tribes of humans who may have been the forefathers of the Egyptians, or the Toltecs, or the Mayans. They may have been the architects of the great pyramids, or the lost civilizations of Lemuria or Atlantis. Some believe that there may yet be brothers of man who even now fight to survive somewhere beyond the heavens…”
Battlestar Galactica is an American science fiction television series, produced in 1978 by Glen Larson and starring Lorne Greene, Richard Hatch and Dirk Benedict.
The premise of the series takes themes from Chariots of the Gods and Mormon theology.
The show lasted only one season in 1978-1979, but has since developed a huge cult following, and several books have been written continuing the sagas of the characters, many co-authored by Hatch. After its cancellation, its story was continued in 1980 as Galactica 1980 with Adama and Lieutenant Boomer being the only continuing characters. It was “reimagined” in 2003 by the Sci-Fi Channel
Lexx

LEXX is a science fiction TV series that follows the adventures of a group of mismatched individuals aboard the Lexx, “the most powerful destructive force in the two universes” from which the show takes its name. The Lexx is a living spacecraft, shaped like an insect. It is capable of destroying planets with ease, and eats the debris as fuel.
The series is a Canadian/German co-production, with some additional funding from Britain’s Five. Because it was not made for a US network it includes a lot more sexual innuendo (and, at least in the early episodes, nudity) than US audiences are generally accustomed to seeing. As of 2002, the show was intermittently shown on the SciFi Channel; currently, it is regularly shown on Showcase.
LEXX was co-produced by Salter Street Films, later absorbed by Alliance Atlantis.
The series was filmed in Berlin, Germany, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, Iceland, Bangkok, Thailand and Namibia
Firefly

The series is set in 2517 AD and deals with the adventures of the renegade crew of Serenity, a Firefly-class spaceship. It features an ensemble cast of nine regular members who wound up on Serenity for various reasons. The show explores what happens to people who fought on the losing side of a civil war, as well as the pioneer/frontier culture that exists on the fringes of their star system. To add a twist, it is a future where the two sole-surviving superpowers are the United States and China (which formed the Alliance), so it is rife with cultural fusion. According to Whedon, nothing has changed in the future: there are more people with greater technology, but they still have the same problems politically, morally and ethically
Babylon 5

Babylon 5 is an epic science fiction television series created, produced, and largely written by J. Michael Straczynski. The show centred around the titular Babylon 5 space station, which acted as a focal point for politics, diplomacy and wars. It is noted for its heavy reliance on pre-planned story arcs over its 5 year run, sometimes described as a ‘novel for television’.
The pilot movie, The Gathering, aired on February 22, 1993, and the regular series initially aired from January 26, 1994 through November 25, 1998, first in syndication on the short-lived Prime Time Entertainment Network, then on cable network TNT. Because the show was aired every week in the United Kingdom on Channel 4 without a break, the last four or five episodes of the early seasons were shown in the UK before the US.
The series won several awards, including two Hugos for Best Dramatic Presentation

I just finished with the first and only season of Firefly and I am not afraid to say that it is in my top 5 of the best tv shows involving a space ship.
Firefly is an American science fiction television series that premiered in the United States and Canada on September 20, 2002. It presents an atypical science fiction narrative in a naturalistic future setting modeled after traditional Western movie motifs. It was conceived by writer/director Joss Whedon, creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, who served as executive producer with Tim Minear.
Firefly was broadcast on the FOX network but was cancelled after only eleven of the fourteen produced episodes were aired. It won an Emmy in 2003 for “Outstanding Special Visual Effects for a Series.” Strong sales of the series’ DVD collection and an unprecedented fan support campaign led Whedon and Universal Pictures to produce a film based on the series, titled Serenity after the fictional spacecraft featured in the show.
Although the show had a loyal following during its original broadcast, it was cancelled by FOX in December 2002 after only 11 episodes aired in the USA and Canada due to low ratings. Worried about the low ratings, fans formed the Firefly Immediate Assistance campaign whose goal was to support the production of the show by sending in postcards to FOX. After it was cancelled, the campaign worked on getting another network such as UPN to pick up the cancelled show. The campaign was unsuccessful in securing the show’s continuation
Serenity The Movie
Serenity is a 2005 space western film written and directed by Joss Whedon. It is set in the universe of the cancelled FOX science fiction television series Firefly, taking place approximately two months after the events of the final episode. Set 500 years in the future, Serenity is the story of the captain and crew of a transport and cargo ship. The captain and first mate are veterans of a Unification War and fought on the losing side. Their lives of petty crime are interrupted by a psychic passenger who carries a dangerous secret.
The film was released in the United States on September 30, 2005 by Universal Pictures. It received generally positive reviews and opened at #2 in the United States, taking in $10.1 million its first weekend, spending two weeks in the top ten, and totalling a box office gross of $25.5 million. Serenity won film of the year awards from Film 2005 and FilmFocus. It also won IGN Film’s Best Sci-Fi, Best Story and Best Trailer awards and was runner up for the Overall Best Movie. It also won the Nebula Award for Best Script for 2005, the 7th annual ‘User Tomato Awards’ for best Sci-Fi movie of 2005 at Rotten Tomatoes, the 2006 viewers choice Spacey Award for favorite movie, the 2006 Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation, Long Form and the 2006 Prometheus Special Award.
Among fans, the film is commonly referred to as the “Big Damn Movie” or abbreviated “BDM”, a reference to a line from a Firefly episode. Serenity is a rare occurrence in the industryāas failed TV shows are rarely continued in major motion pictures.

Miami Vice (Michael Mann, Usa, 2006)

Deep-Chested Aryan Brother: [Holding detonator] Shoot me, she dies. Shoot me, go ahead. Fuck it, we can all go. That’s cool.
Det. Gina Calabrese: That’s not what happens. What will happen is… what will happen is I will put a round at twenty-seven hundred feet per second into the medulla at the base of your brain. And you will be dead from the neck down before your body knows it. Your finger won’t even twitch. Only you get dead. So tell me, sport, do you believe that?

District B 13 (Pierre Morel, France, 2004)

In the near future, the worst ghettos of Paris, France are literally walled off and among the worst is District B13. Controlled by the ruthless crime lord, Taha, a young righteous punk named LeĆÆto is determined to bring him down. When the boss retaliates by kidnapping his sister, Lola, a rescue attempt by LeĆÆto is destroyed by betrayal that gets him arrested and Lola kept in the clutches in Taha. Six months later, a crackerjack undercover cop named Damien is given a urgent mission: a neutron bomb has been stolen by Taha in District B13 which has an automatic timer function engaged and set to detonate in less than 24 hours. Now with time running out, Damien and LeĆÆto must work together to find and stop the bomb, but there is far more to this crisis than any of the field players realize.

Yesterday I went with CH to watch the movie; I did not read any critic before so I was not influenced by anyone.
I had a blast, I laughed so loud that I still have pain near my ribs, in particular with Randal’s scene about the Lord of the Rings also for people looking for something a little bit deeper, Clerks II includes some subjects like “do things because it is what I should do”, “I have more than 30 years old”, getting married, and in particular about unconditional Friendship.
