Ayer fue el cumpleaños de Chinchulina, 29 para nostros pero 30 para los Chinos que cuentan de 1 en adelante en vez de 0.
Entre mucha comida, Rock Band para el Xbox 360 y por supuesto el metegol (futbolito) la pasamos muy bien.

Yesterday was Chinchulina’s birthday, 29 for us but 30 for Chinese standards based on the fact that they count from 1 instead of 0 when a baby born.
Between tons of food, Rock Band for the Xbox 360 and Foosball we had a blast.

In response to consumer complaints posted in the company’s official forum, Canadian ISP Bell Sympatico has admitted that it uses bandwidth throttling technologies to impose limitations on peer-to-peer (P2P) file-sharing during peak hours. This revelation is further evidence that net neutrality—the principle of equal treatment for all traffic through a network—is eroding.

“[W]e are now using a Internet Traffic Management to restrict accounts that are using a large portion of bandwidth during peak hours,” a Sympatico forum administrator wrote in response to a user complaint. The forum administrator also provides a list of affected applications, which includes BitTorrent, Gnutella, Limewire, Kazaa, and other widely-used P2P applications. Readers of Broadband Reports had been suspicious for some time that the ISP was throttling traffic.

“Bell Sympatico has launched a solution to enhance the online customer experience and improve Internet performance for all our customers during peak periods of Internet usage with the introduction of Internet Traffic Management,” another response says. “There continues to be phenomenal growth of consumer Internet traffic throughout the world, and Bell is using Internet Traffic Management to ensure we deliver bandwidth fairly to our customers during peak Internet usage.”

The rhetoric issued by Sympatico in defense of bandwidth throttling resembles Comcast’s recent defense of similar practices. The ISPs claim that bandwidth throttling leads to a better Internet experience for customers. As numerous advocacy groups have pointed out in response to such claims, bandwidth throttling and other kinds of discriminatory content filtering fundamentally change the nature of the Internet to the detriment of consumers. Selectively blocking transmission of content hardly constitutes a valid means of improving the Internet experience.

The bandwidth throttling practices used by these companies are made more egregious by the secrecy surrounding the precise nature of what gets blocked and when. In the official Sympatico forum, the company representatives who admit that bandwidth throttling is occurring are declining to respond to questions about the extent of the throttling or the conditions that Sympatico uses to determine whose connectivity to degrade. Some ISPs, like Comcast, actively punish employees for disclosing such information to the public.

P2P is thought to make up between 30 and 50 percent of all Internet traffic. Many consumers who pay more for faster Internet connectivity do so because they want faster P2P service. The increasing number of foreign and domestic Internet service providers that use bandwidth throttling is sure to provide ammunition to those who believe some sort of government intervention will be necessary to ensure that broadband subscribers have full and unfettered access to any application, any site, any time.

Hace un tiempo Sarra uno de los admins del blog Argenautas.com me dijo que un tal Richard (llamemoslo asi por motivos de confidencialidad) estaba rompiendo las pelotas al mas puro estilo troll, yo por esos tiempos andaba complicado y entre Sarra y Chalcha trataron (con exito) de sacar Argenautas.com a flote.
Si bien no estaba del todo involucrado con el blog, mi direccion de email era publica y es fue asi como un dia recibi este email

Hola Gaston, que tal, me llamo “Richard” y veo que a veces en argenautas,
escribo algo y despues desaparece del mapa como si me lo hubiesen censurado.
Hoy paso 2 veces con un comentario sobre unas jubilaciones de un tal
(NOMBRE). En la primera pense que no habia dado enter. Pero en la segunda vi
que aparecia y ya no esta (solo pregunte si tenia el link de eso).

Te prometo confidencialidad y tambien te pido que no publiques este mensaje
privado mio, pero quisiera saber cual es la causa. Y si no podes explicarme,
que me contestes algo : No te puedo explicar o algo.

No se, no entiendo por que no se borra el mensaje de (NOMBRE) que creo que
es mas “molesto” que el mio que anda pidiendo saber de donde saco la info.
Despues sarra escribio que la censura es relativa y la dejo picando aun mas.
La otra vez hace unos meses paso lo mismo. Sarra escribio un articulo sobre
censura. Despues lo saco.

En conclusion, me gustaria saber que pasa.

Si bien no sabia que era lo que pasaba me imagine que Sarra borro un par de sus comentarios para evitar problemas.
Lo que mas me llamo la antencion fue el hecho de que Richard se haya hecho el boludo e inocentemente pregunto al pasar que era lo que habia pasado con sus comentario cuando en realidad sabia muy bien lo que habia pasado y por supuesto el hecho de ofrecer confidencialidad me termino de mostra con que clase de persona estaba tratando… (Ponga su calificativo aqui)

Claro que le respondi correctamente , pedi perdon por lo sucedido y le pedi a los reyes magos no tener que lidiar con el de nuevo en mi vida.

Pero Richard no estaba satisfecho dado que se mando la gran conspiracion y comenzo a decir que si Sarra no lo jodia el no joderia, una suerte de pacto en su mente o algo asi, btw bastante enfermito considerando que esto es nada mas ni nada menos que Internet.

No hay problema, pero por lo que veo fue Sarra el que me borro no ?

Para mi no se dan cuenta. Y ayer, vi un blog que vuelve a poner el cuento de la mierda blanca. No se, supongo que no me habra leido, porque digamos que poner lo mismo que otro es, digamos, muy aburrido.

I don’t know what happened here. But this happened on my Air Canada plane ride to London, England in December 6th, 2007 from Toronto.

At 3:15 sec he says “f’in white people”. I personally believe that another passenger somehow provoked or encouraged this persons paranoid behaviour.

What is important is that everybody arrived safely.

I am no medical doctor so I have no idea what this man was going through, but I feel that he seemed more concerned for his own safety? I think he was scared. I think it’s a very fascinating phenomenon.

My partner and I decided we should videotape this in the interest of sharing the experience we went through on this plane with those interested.

Several plastic cuffs were brought out by the flight attendants almost as soon as the man started yelling
#4 Yes it was scary at times, but the crew and a couple of fellow passengers did an excellent job and I commend them, I also commend the calm nature of my fellow passengers despite the unsettling circumstances.
#5 I was awoken by his screaming, so I’m not positive if he was set off by anyone. I do know that a large white British man would walk by him and antagonize him. This was equally annoying, because it was usually when the man had quieted down.
#6 This man is likely Indian decent, he mentions Muslims, but its not exactly complimentary, HOWEVER I could really care less about this - didn’t matter to me who was screaming - white, Chinese, innu - it would have been equally unnerving.

Les presento a mi ultimo juguete, un Ipod Touch de 32 GB, por supuesto que ya esta Jailbrekeado y lleno de aplicationes.
Lo que mas me gusta es el hecho de que es muy liviano, gran autonomia, ya que al no tenes parlante y camara como el Iphone han usado el espacio para mejorar las bateria.
La verdad es que cuando salieron las versiones de 8 y 16 GB casi compro uno, pero tengo tanta musica que decidi esperar a que salga algo con mayor capacidad.

Here is my new gadget, Ipod Touch 32 GB, and yes, it is already jailbroken and full of appz.
What I like the best is the how thin and light it is, remember that it does not have the speaker and crappy camera like the Iphone so Apple used the extra space to improve the battery.
To be honest when Apple released the 8 and 16 GB I almost buy one, but I have tons of music so I decided to wait for something with more storage.
